Last week began with a funeral service in St Magnus Cathedral celebrating the life of Robin Preston and concluded with news that Don Peace from Stronsay had sadly passed away.

And not just joint working between both of Scotland’s governments but the involvement too of local councils, invariably the forgotten partner in debates about where powers should lie and decisions taken.
This time last year we were wrestling with the new Omicron variant of Covid. So it was a relief to see the Ba and log pull back in their rightful place in the festive calendar this year, alongside the more recent addition of the tractor run. More positive still, of course, was the sight of Ba’s entering the water and Sanday joining the tractor cavalcade!
